Matt Ioannidis- DE   Class of 2012

  • Height/Weight: 6’4 250lbs
  • Player Info: Sometimes playing with great effort can make up for lack of size or certain skills, but when coupled with talent, you get a guy like Matt Ioannidis. All season he played the defensive end position with a tremendous motor that allowed him to constantly make plays even when teams ran away from him. He was a force on the edge, collecting 65 solo tackles, 17 tfl, and 8 sacks to help propel Hunterdon Central to a 8-2 record and NJSIAA playoff birth. His efforts earned him 2nd Team All-State and 1st Team All-County, Group, and Conference honors. We’re sure to see continued great play from Matt this fall after making a verbal commitment to play collegiality for the Temple University Owls.  Highlights

 

Jamil Pollard- DT   Class of 2012

  • School: West Deptford High School ~ Home of the EAGLES ~
  • Height/Weight: 6’4 285lbs
  • Player Info: Using some of his techniques he learned from being a standout wrestler, Jamil used his quickness and strength in the middle to dominate opposing offensive lineman. He lead his talented Eagles team to a 11-1 record and Group II South State Championship. He was viewed as the leader of a defense that rarely allowed any points all season and found no problem collecting 83 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 forced fumble, and 1 blocked pass. He quickly earned the reputation as one of the most talented defensive lineman in the state and earned 1st Team All-County, Group, Conference, and State honors. When speaking to people about him, many commented on his off-season commitment and how hard he works in the weight room to be great. This fall he plans on attending Penn State University, where he looks to earn his degree and continue his success on the field for the Nittany Lions. Jamil Pollard Highlights

Damien Stevens- DT  Sr.

  • School: Piscataway High School ~Home of the CHIEFS ~
  • Height/Weight: 6’2 290lbs
  • Player Info: Damien is a big athletic lineman who was a leader and enforcer on a talented Chiefs squad. He was a two way starter and collected 62 tackles, 25 solo, 3 sacks, and 3 fumble recoveries at DT, helping propel his team to their 7th Group IV State Championship.  His hard work helped him earn 1st team All-Conference, county, and 3rd team All-State on defense. When asked about what he felt about playing down in the trenches he said “Skill players score touchdowns, lineman win games”.  Damien Stevens Highlight Film
